We depend on members of our community to be the propelling force behind our program each week. Guided by our professional chef, this committed and hard-working group of volunteers forms a camaraderie and a spirit of giving that infuses our food with love and healing. They meet three mornings a week - Mondays, Tuesdays and Wednesdays - to prep, chop, assemble, and fill the bags with the different food offerings. On Wednesdays at noon, another group of dedicated helpers arrives to deliver the food bags to our clients’ homes.
We also have a wonderful harvesting program to pick fruit and vegetables from overloaded trees or gardens. Harvesters meet every Tuesday morning at 8 AM in the parking lot of Trinity Lutheran Church and are usually done around 11 AM. Everyone is invited to join this fun way to volunteer.
We also encourage you to volunteer in food preparation and packaging to see first hand the wonderful service that we are providing. No prior cooking experience needed. Delivery drivers need a valid license and current car insurance.
